National Anti-SLAPP Task Force

The National Anti-SLAPP Working Group (NRG SLAPP) is an informal collaboration of several civil society organizations and experts with the aim of suppressing the emergence of strategic lawsuits against public participation (SLAPP). NRG SLAPP was born out of the importance of joint action, coordinating anti-SLAPP activities and providing support to all those affected by lawsuits with SLAPP features in Serbia.
The creation of NRG SLAPP and the SLAPP base was supported by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In order to achieve the goals for which it was founded, NRG SLAPP fulfills the following tasks:

Our mission

Collects data related to claims with SLAPP features and maintains a SLAPP database
It collects the best practices for combating SLAPPs implemented in Serbia and outside of Serbia

Our vision

Provides support to those affected by lawsuits with SLAPP features
It advocates a legislative framework that will provide protection for those affected by lawsuits with SLAPP features.

Gradjanske inicijative

Civic initiatives carry out their activities through two programs: the civil society capacity building program and the public policy program.

Civic initiatives were created in 1996 when a group of prominent NGO activists involved in the anti-war movement and non-nationalist democratic opposition recognized the need to create a social, civic base that could support democratic change by teaching citizens about their rights, democracy, civil society and how to be active citizens, so that they could decide on their own lives.

Partners Serbia

Partners Serbia is a civil society organization, dedicated to the improvement of the rule of law, the development of civil society and institutional building in Serbia and the region, while strengthening local capacities and using the knowledge of domestic experts. Partners Serbia have developed expertise in the field of alternative dispute resolution and mediation, conflict management, rule of law, development of democracy and protection of human rights, anti-corruption and protection of privacy and personal data.

Committee of Lawyers for Human Rights - YUCOM

The Committee of Lawyers for Human Rights (YUCOM) is a non-governmental organization founded in November 1997 in Belgrade with the aim of promoting and advocating the rule of law and the protection of human rights, in accordance with generally accepted civilizational standards, international conventions and domestic law, establishing and developing the rule of law and transitional justice. YUCOM provides free legal assistance to victims whose human rights have been violated and develops cooperation with domestic and international organizations involved in the protection and promotion of human rights.

Independent Association of Journalists of Vojvodina

The Independent Association of Journalists of Vojvodina (NDNV) is an organization that has existed since January 1990. Founded as a professional association for the promotion of the journalistic profession and the protection of journalists from a repressive regime, NDNV was and remains an uncompromising fighter for the values ​​of civil society, which always placed it on the side of those who are not the favorites of the rulers. This fact reflected in different periods with different intensity on the work of the Association, making it more or less difficult.

Belgrade Center for Human Rights

The Belgrade Center for Human Rights is a non-partisan, non-political and non-profit association of citizens interested in improving the theory and practice of human rights. Improving knowledge in the field of human rights and humanitarian law, development of democracy, establishment of the rule of law and civil society in Serbia and in other countries created during the transition from autocracy to democracy are the main goals of the Belgrade Center. During more than two decades of its existence, the Center tried to raise citizens' awareness of the importance and scope of the idea of ​​human rights and individual freedoms and create a climate for their full appreciation.

Independent Association of Journalists of Serbia

The Independent Association of Journalists of Serbia (NUNS) is a membership-based non-governmental organization that gathers more than 2,500 freelance professional journalists (about 1,000 active members). It was founded in 1994 by journalists dissatisfied with the work of the Association of Journalists of Serbia. The initiators were members of the Board of Directors of the Solidarity Fund and representatives of about thirty newsrooms throughout Serbia, mostly gathered in the Independent Syndicate, among which there were many who left the Association of Journalists of Serbia. NUNS has been a member of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) and the European Federation of Journalists (EFJ) since 1994.

Slavko Curuvija Foundation

The initiative to establish the Slavko Ćuruvija Foundation (SCF) was initiated by Jelena and Rade Ćuruvija, daughter and son of Slavko Ćuruvija. With the help of friends from the non-governmental sector of Serbia and the support of the Rockefeller Brothers Foundation from New York, in November 2013. The Slavko Ćuruvija Foundation started its work in 2008, which aims to improve the quality of journalism in Serbia, support local media, support investigative journalism, as well as work with young people who are just entering the world of journalism.

BIRN Serbia is a non-governmental, non-profit organization based in Belgrade. Since its founding in 2004. BIRN Serbia has been monitoring and analyzing social and political processes, especially the role of the media in them.

The Crime and Corruption Research Network (KRIK) is a non-profit non-governmental organization established to improve investigative journalism in Serbia. The organization was founded by a team of journalists who have been exposing crime and corruption for years and who have received multiple awards for their work.

Krokodil

The KROKODIL association is dedicated to the creation of literary, cultural and socio-political programs and content with the aim of developing the literary audience as well as those interested in culture in general, promoting the policy of dialogue, reconciliation and reconstruction of broken cultural ties primarily in the Western Balkans, but also deepening mutual understanding and acceptance of diversity on the European continent and beyond.
